Diffusion Tensor Imaging of skeletal muscle


The mechanical functions of muscles and their ability to generate force and movement is strongly dependent on the geometrical arrangement of muscle fibers (muscle architecture). Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) is a powerful technique that allows non-invasive quantification of skeletal muscle architecture. My research focuses on improving the extraction of meaningful parameters from DTI measurement, and to improve its sensitivity to detect changes induced by pathology and treatment.
